Yesterday we started our word work. Each day of the week the students do a variety of word work activities to practice their words. Students were given a group that they will be in and yesterday they copied their words into a list and then sorted them into word pattern categories. This week we are exploring ay, ai, and a-e words. Today the students put their words into alphabetical order and made a list of rhyming words. Tomorrow they will choose 5 words to make 5 really amazing sentences. Thursday will be practice using a variety of tools such as magnetic letters, buddha boards, letter tiles and keyboarding. On Friday, the students will do a blind sort test with a partner. Each week I will post the list of words that we are working on.
The field trip forms for Library School will be coming home soon. PLEASE let me know if you can volunteer by emailing me at cacooper@cbe.ab.ca . We will need 4-5 volunteers each day. All volunteers will be required to have a completed CBE security clearance. Thank you
